In a shaker tin, muddle star anise in vodka until it is well
broken up and the aromas have been released then add the
apple and muddle until it is mushy.
Add remaining ingredients, fill shaker with ice, shake vigorously and strain through a tea strainer into a chilled martini glass.
Garnish with an apple fan or float a star anise on the surface.
